Today Counted

Privacy Policy

Effective 23 July 2026

Today Counted is designed around a simple principle: your moments belong to you. This policy explains how the Today Counted iOS app and this website handle information.

1. Information stored by the app

The moments, categories, moods, favourites and photos you add to Today Counted are stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device storage technologies. They may also be made available to the Today Counted widget through Apple’s private App Group container on that same device.

Today Counted does not require you to create an account and does not send the content of your moments or photos to a developer-operated server. The developer cannot read your entries.

2. Information we do not collect

Today Counted does not include third-party advertising, analytics SDKs or tracking technologies. We do not collect:

3. Photos

If you choose to attach a photo, Apple’s system photo picker lets you select the image. Today Counted receives only the photo you choose and stores it with your local app data. The app does not request unrestricted access to your photo library.

4. Face ID and device authentication

If you enable the optional privacy lock, Today Counted asks Apple’s Local Authentication framework to confirm your identity. Biometric information is handled entirely by your device and is never made available to Today Counted or its developer.

5. Notifications

If you enable a daily reminder, its schedule and content are managed locally using Apple’s notification services. Today Counted does not use a developer-operated push-notification server.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

Free-trial transactions, subscriptions, payments, renewals, cancellations and purchase restoration are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Today Counted receives entitlement information needed to determine whether the trial or subscription is active. We do not receive your payment-card details.

Apple handles information connected with your Apple Account under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

7. Exports and sharing

PDF moment booklets and shareable reflection images are created only when you request them. They are passed to Apple’s system share sheet, where you decide whether and where to save or share them. Today Counted does not receive information about the destination you choose.

8. The Today Counted website

This static marketing website is hosted using GitHub Pages. The site does not use cookies, analytics or advertising. GitHub may process technical information needed to deliver the site, such as IP addresses and server logs, according to GitHub’s Privacy Statement.

9. Data retention and deletion

Your app content remains on your device until you edit or delete it, or remove the app and its associated local data. You can delete individual moments from within Today Counted. Because the developer does not hold a copy of your content, there is no separate developer database from which it needs to be deleted.

10. Children’s privacy

Today Counted does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users. The app’s content remains under the control of the device owner.

11. Security

Today Counted relies on Apple’s platform security, app sandboxing and optional device authentication. No method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so you should also protect access to your device.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if Today Counted’s features or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are made.
